The Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (MACL) is a two-year professional degree that integrates a Biblical and theological core with focused training in leadership theory, practical leadership skills, organizational strategy, ministry practice, and spiritual formation. The program equips men and women for Spirit-filled and Spirit-guided leadership and administration in churches, in non-profits, in missions, and in marketplace contexts.
Specific knowledge and skills that are gained through this degree include:
Understanding of the biblical, theological, and theoretical foundations relevant to Christian leadership studies.
Theological reflection on and assessment of existing leadership practices in ministry and church life.
Knowledge of relevant approaches and appropriate resources for fostering spiritual formation within faith communities.
Assessment and critique of the models and approaches to leadership and their application to specific ministry contexts.
Development of skills relevant to and appropriate for the area of leadership studies.
Ability to produce scholarly research and writing in the field of leadership studies.
Degree Requirements of the MACL (36 credit-hours)
The MACL requires the successful completion of 36 semester hours with a GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4-point scale. Up to 18 credit hours of work may be accepted by transfer from accredited schools with a grade of C or better upon approval by the Vice President for Academics.
