Gradon J. “Chic” and Carla Chandler Inducted Into the Hall of Prophets

On Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Bread of Life Church of God in Holly Pond, Alabama, Chic and Carla Chandler were formally inducted into the prestigious Pentecostal Theological Seminary Hall of Prophets.  The Hall of Prophets is reserved for Pentecostal ministers whose ministry for Christ has been distinctive, honorable, noteworthy and meritorious.  The induction establishes a fully funded endowed scholarship of at least twenty-five thousand dollars and will serve as a perpetual source of funding scholarships and support for deserving PTS students for ministry.

The induction was hosted by the Bread of Life Church, under the leadership of pastor Wayne Barnette.  Dr. Michael L. Baker, President of PTS, officiated the formal induction with ministry tributes by Dr. Tim Hill, Church of God General Overseer and Bishop Terry Hart, Alabama Administrative Bishop.  Also sharing tributes were Dr. Gene D. Rice, Dr. Rickie Moore, Rev. Carl Allen, Pastor Wayne Barnette along with members of the Chandler family.

The Chandler’s served the Church of God as pastor (Grand Rapids, Ypsilanti and Warren, Michigan), as administrative bishop (Southern New England and New York), as a National Evangelist, and numerous Boards and committees.

On behalf of the seminary Board of Trustees, Dr. Baker formally inducted the Chandlers and presented them with a special plaque that chronicles their ministry of seventy plus years.  A duplicate plaque is placed in the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Gallery of Pentecost designed to preserve the legacy of those whose consecration and dedication to God and the Church is worthy of emulation.

Congratulations to the Chandlers on this momentous induction into the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Hall of Prophets.
